The average generation time represents the average amount of time it takes to load a page in your website. You can use this value to quickly gauge the overall speed of your website. A fast-loading site is important for encouraging visitors.
According to Google, 53% of mobile users leave a site that takes longer than three seconds to load. Ideally, a page should load in under one second but aiming for under two seconds is probably more realistic. Page load time will depend on the resources being called; for example, if you are embedding a YouTube video or Instagram feed then it will be considerably slower. Even monitoring the analytics on your site will add a quarter of a second.
You can see the average time for all pages on the main dashboard.
For a more detailed breakdown, use the side menu and select Behaviour > Page titles. This shows you the average generation time for each page (with most popular at the top).
